The John Theissen Children’s Foundation

The John Theissen Children’s Foundation began in 1992. The organization started with a small toy drive collecting 800 toys for kids in local hospitals.  In 12 years, they have collected over 300,000 new toys and have donated them to sick and needy children in over 150 hospitals and child-care facilities. 

       Since 1992, the John Theissen Children’s Foundation has provided hospitals with therapeutic and recreational equipment, supported Long Island families with financial assistance to defray medical expenses of their sick children, and fulfilled patients’, ages birth to 18 years old, with wish lists throughout the year.  Their Back to School Program has helped underprivileged children from low-income households receive school clothes and supplies for the school year so they have all the confidence to succeed in the classroom.      

       “We hope to eliminate the added burden and stress for a child who is already dealing with so much at such a young age,” says John Theissen, founder and brain tumor survivor when he was just 17 years old.  

       All funds and donations generated are 100 percent distributed immediately to Long Island children battling disease and hardship.

Last Year We Raised $15,000 for the Foundation!!! 

This Year We Raised FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS MORE!
